JONESBORO, AR (November 12, 2025) – Methodist Family Health will officially open the doors of its newest facility, Methodist Children’s Behavioral Hospital–Jonesboro (MCBH–Jonesboro), with a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to noon, Tues., Jan. 13, 2026, at 3024 Red Wolf Blvd., Suite 1, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce will take place at 10:30 a.m., marking the expansion of Methodist Family Health’s mission to provide the best possible care to those who may need our help.

The new 70-bed acute psychiatric hospital is designed for patients under the age of 18 who need short-term, inpatient treatment for mental health crises, including depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and self-harm. The facility’s design includes enhanced safety features and therapeutic spaces that promote stability, recovery and hope.

Kayla Beamon, hospital administrator for MCBH–Jonesboro, said the opening fulfills an urgent community need.

“This hospital will provide a vital service for children and families who need immediate behavioral healthcare close to home,” Beamon said. “Our team is dedicated to offering compassionate, effective treatment in a safe, healing environment right here in northeast Arkansas.”

Andy Altom, president and CEO of Methodist Family Health, said the new hospital reflects the organization’s commitment to making mental healthcare more accessible statewide.

“Families in this area have often had to travel long distances to find care for their children in crisis,” Altom said. “With Methodist Children’s Behavioral Hospital–Jonesboro, we’re removing that barrier and bringing high-quality, compassionate, inpatient psychiatric care directly to the community. We’re grateful for the partnerships that made this possible.”

MFH purchased the Jonesboro building where the Arkansas Continued Care Hospital was located. The building was remodeled into an acute psychiatric hospital to provide inpatient treatment, usually for a few days to a couple of weeks, for pediatric patients experiencing a mental health crisis, including suicidal behavior or self-harm. The Jonesboro facility joins Methodist Family Health’s statewide continuum of care, which includes inpatient and outpatient services, residential programs, counseling clinics, and the nonprofit’s Methodist Children’s Behavioral Hospital in Maumelle, which is both an acute and subacute facility for Arkansas children and families struggling with psychiatric, behavioral and emotional issues.
