Methodist Behavioral Hospital in Maumelle is home to the Acute (short-term) and Sub-Acute (long-term) inpatient programs in the Methodist Family Health Continuum of Care. It offers the most intensive level of care in the Continuum and is the only hospital in the nation certified in the Teaching-Family Model.
The 60-bed hospital specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents under age 18 who are in need of highly coordinated care. The Acute Unit provides crisis stabilization for children and adolescents ages 3-17 who are an immediate danger to themselves or someone else. The goal is to connect the child with community services for future success. The Sub-Acute Unit is designed for children ages 4-11 who are struggling with chronic issues. The goal in this unit is to stabilize behavior and return the client to a less-restrictive environment.
Methodist Behavioral Hospital is staffed by board certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, skilled nurses, behavioral instructors, social workers and physicians. The hospital is the proud recipient of the prestigious Top Performer on Key Quality Measures award presented by the Joint Commission for 2012, 2013 and 2014.
