Methodist Children's Behavioral Hospitals

A Compassionate, Comprehensive Continuum of Care

Methodist Children’s Behavioral Hospitals are part of the complete, statewide continuum of care provided by Methodist Family Health for Arkansas children and their families.

Our mission is to offer the best possible care to those who may need our help. Specifically, we provide care for children and adolescents struggling with psychiatric, behavioral and emotional issues. We do so in environments designed to promote healing, dignity and long-term stability.

At each location, we offer acute inpatient treatment. Our Maumelle hospital provides both acute and subacute care for children and adolescents ages 3 to 17 experiencing psychiatric crisis.

Methodist Children’s Behavioral Hospitals also are the only nonprofit behavioral hospitals in Arkansas. And, they are the only psychiatric hospitals in the county certified in the esteemed Teaching-Family Model.

Rooted in more than a century of service, Methodist Family Health’s approach ensures children continue to thrive after leave our facilities. Our method includes:

  • Evidence-based therapy.
  • Family involvement.
  • Aftercare planning.

Wherever you are in Arkansas, our hospitals are here to provide immediate help, hope, and healing. Find out more about our hospitals:

Community Health Needs Assessment

According to the Centers for Disease Control, a community health assessment (CHA), also known as community health needs assessment (CHNA), refers to a state, tribal, local, or territorial assessment that identifies key health needs and issues through systematic, comprehensive data collection and analysis. A community health assessment gives organizations comprehensive information about the community’s current health status, needs, and issues. This information can help develop a community health improvement plan by justifying how and where resources should be allocated to best meet community needs. Benefits include:
  • Improved organizational and community coordination and collaboration
  • Increased knowledge about public health and the interconnectedness of activities
  • Strengthened partnerships within state and local public health systems
