Spirituality Services

Share your talents in any way you are led to provide.

Twice per month on Sunday afternoons, volunteer groups visit our children and teens at Methodist Behavioral Hospital in Maumelle or our Residential Treatment Center in Little Rock. These visits are meaningful opportunities to connect with kids who are working hard to improve their lives and reconnect with their families.

Pastoral care volunteer services can be customized to match your mission, gifts and talents. This can include music, devotionals, games, dramas, crafts, cooking activities, theater, snacks, worship services – the list is nearly endless. We can accommodate groups in our gym, classrooms, or Little Rock Chapel with advance planning.

What You Need to Know

  • Groups typically serve boys ages 6-10, mixed groups ages 6-17, or teens ages 9-17.
  • We provide basic supplies like paper and markers; you bring what’s needed for your activities.
  • No sharp items (scissors, needles, staples, pipe cleaners).
  • Youth groups need at least 2 adults present.
  • Phones and valuables are secured during visits.
  • All volunteers complete a confidentiality form.

Important Reminders

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds – about half are not religious or have had difficult church experiences, while others find faith very important. Using inclusive language and theology helps everyone feel welcomed and loved. Many clients have experienced trauma, so your caring presence means the world to them.

Special Opportunities

Hospitality is especially meaningful when children are separated from their families. Consider organizing special events during holidays like:

  • Thanksgiving.
  • Christmas.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Black History Month.
  • Valentine’s Day.
  • International Women’s History Month.
  • Fourth of July.
  • Back-to-School.
  • Halloween.
  • Other meaningful times.

Can't Come Lead a Group?

  • Pray for our kids and families.
  • Donate Bibles, devotionals, and journals.
  • Write encouraging notes for children or staff.
  • Donate funds or food.
  • Help wrap Christmas gifts.
