Qualified Residential Treatment Programs

Methodist Family Health’s network of qualified residential treatment programs (QRTPs) provides a stable, family-style setting for trauma-informed behavioral treatment of children and youth.

The QRTPs evolved from our therapeutic group homes after changes required by The Family First Prevention Services Act. Methodist Family Health operates two QRTP homes serving Arkansas children ages 12-18 who are experiencing placement in foster care. Each home accommodates up to eight youth who live on-site full-time.

All referrals and placements for these programs are required to be initiated by the Arkansas Department of Children and Family Services.

The Ophelia Polk-Moore Home in Lexa and the Magale Manor Home in Magnolia each have Teaching Parents onsite. Teaching Parents are trained treatment professionals in the Teaching-Family Model. They live in the home with the young people they serve to provide guidance and intervention.

All referrals and placements for these programs are required to be initiated by the Arkansas Department of Children and Family Services.

Youth living in our QRTPs benefit by:

  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to pursue their individual treatment goals.
  • Building healthy, supportive family relationships.
  • Attending local public schools while learning to manage their emotions and behaviors in social settings.
  • Engaging with positive adult role models through their Teaching-Parents.
  • Developing practical, real-life skills that prepare them for future success.
