Even though we have incorporated as a stand-alone, nonprofit organization, our roots and daily mission are still firmly planted in service.
Pastoral care at Methodist Family Health provides spiritual care and emotional support for all clients, staff and families across our continuum of care. We focus on building genuine human connections through:
We also collaborate with our mental health and recreational therapists, behavioral instructors and other staff to provide supportive care. And, we engage with volunteers and local churches to offer programs and support to children and teens across Arkansas.

Rev. Dr. Hammett N. Evans is the Director of Pastoral Care at Methodist Family Health. A third-generation Methodist pastor and ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, Rev. Dr. Evans brings extensive pastoral experience. He recently completed Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training at UAMS.
Rev. Dr. Evans is committed to offering clear, grounded pastoral care that focuses on real human connection and meeting people where they are in their journey. His office is located in the Spiritual Life Center at our Fillmore Campus, 2002 S. Fillmore St., Little Rock.
Add our kids and their families to your prayer lists at church and remember them as you pray.
Twice per month on Sunday afternoons, outside groups visit our Little Rock Residential Treatment Center or Methodist Behavioral Hospital in Maumelle. There, they lead activities for children and youth in our care. These groupsāoften church youth groups, congregations, or community organizationsāshare their talents through music, devotionals, games, dramas, snacks, and worship services.
Come make a childās day! We need fun-loving and caring groups to spend time with kids and teens at Methodist Family Health. These meaningful visits can be customized to match your mission, gifts and talents. Find more information for volunteers on our Spirituality Services page. Ready to volunteer? Fill out our online registration.
Devotionals, journals, adult and childrenās bibles, and other books are offered to every child, teen and mother who enters our care. While these resources can strengthen mental health, they are not mandatory. We respect each individualās beliefs and past experiences, as we ultimately want them to feel safe and loved, not shamed or excluded.
Funding is always needed to help provide for the spiritual needs of our patients. Your congregation or group can pledge to donate funds to purchase bibles and spiritual study materials. You also can organize your church to provide a pancake breakfast, host a chili cook-off or grill hot dogs for a picnic for any of the kids in our care.Ā
