The Methodist Family Health Foundation sponsors special fund-raising and promotional events throughout the year in support of the programs and services of Methodist Family Health. Upcoming events include:

Kaleidoscope Grief Center Group Meetings
October 24, 2017
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Location: 1600 Aldersgate Rd, Little Rock, AR 72205, USA
Description: Kaleidoscope Grief Center serves grieving children, teens and families in Arkansas. More than a million children nationwide will lose a parent by age 15. Research shows that the death of a parent may be the most traumatic single event to affect the well-being and health of a developing child. Adult depression, schizophrenia, drug problems and alcohol use may be linked to childhood bereavement. Many more will lose siblings, other relatives, caregivers and close friends. These profound losses affect daily lives, academic and social functioning, and growth toward adulthood.

We promote the process of healing through education, therapeutic and recreational services, grief support programs and traditional counseling.

Peer Support Bereavement Groups are held twice monthly (once in summer months), providing age-appropriate peer support for children ages 5-18 and their caregivers. Facilitated by our staff of trained volunteers, these groups provide a safe place to nurture the expression of feelings to promote the healing process after the death of a loved one.

Bereavement counseling with a licensed clinician is available for children and families facing critical or terminal illness.

Kaleidoscope Grief Center is offered through the Methodist Counseling Clinic, 1600 Aldersgate Road, Suite 100B, Little Rock, AR 72205; phone 501.537-3991.

This year's Little Rock Out of the Darkness Walk route is three miles. We will cross over the newly-renovated Broadway bridge, down the Arkansas river trail to the Rose Memorial (Presidential Wetland), walk over the Clinton Presidential Park bridge, head back past the boat house, stop by the Boot Memorial and finish at the east side of Dickey-Stephens Park.
