Springdale church enjoys special bond with Girls’ Home
Recently, my wife, Karen, and I experienced an incredibly special evening at the Springdale Girls Home. For several years now, the young ladies residing in this Methodist Family Health Therapeutic Group Home have had a close relationship with First United Methodist Church of Springdale. They are an integral part of our church family. A Sunday rarely goes by without the girls present in worship. As the senior pastor of First Church, it was an honor to be invited to dinner by these young ladies.
The girls served a delicious meal consisting of Latin American fare. The food had been carefully prepared by both young ladies and their Teaching-Parents, Corey and Karen Paulos. While the enchiladas were the best I have ever eaten, it was the atmosphere at the dinner party that impressed me most. An attitude of love and respect permeated the air. Good conversation, laughter and genuine caring were the order for the evening. Karen and I were so impressed with both the Teaching-Parents and the girls. We talked about the event for days after it was over.
My sincere appreciation is extended to Methodist Family Health for the quality care that is being provided through the leadership of committed professionals like Corey and Karen Paulos. You are making a real difference!
